Side Seams

I love to use seed stitch to frame all sorts of knitting stitches.  Seed stitch lies flat and makes for easy seaming which is why I chose it to border my Building Blocks squares.  Simply work your way up a side seam by picking up the bumps going from side to side and your seam will be nearly invisible.

Who said finishing had to be difficult? Watch the side seam video and see if you agree!

Bobbles

Bobbles add texture and charm to any knitted garment. There are many ways to execute a bobble and my favorite is demonstrated in this video. This simple bobble has its origin in Irish knitting and finds its way into many Aran sweaters.

Block Of The Month

DSCN1306Block of the Month is a skill building class that has students knitting a different 12″ block every month that can be pieced together to create a lovely sampler afghan.  The emphasis of this class is EDUCATION.  Students are guided through the various stitches and techniques each month as their knitting knowledge is increased.  With a different skill focus each month there is something new to learn at each class.  Topics such as gauge, cast ons, bind offs, cables, increases, decreases, lace, pattern reading and more are covered.  This class has become popular thanks to the content and the friendly atmosphere.  Join in the fun!

New session beginning in early 2010.  Contact me with any questions.
