I consider myself the luckiest person alive to be able to combine my two passions – knitting and teaching! As a child my grandmother taught me to knit, sharing her love for the craft and giving me a “hobby” I’ve always enjoyed. Raising my family and teaching school, I knit as often as my schedule permitted.
Years later Knitting Temptations of Dublin, Ohio tapped me to teach beginning knitting and a new career path was born. One class led to another and soon I left the preschoolers to teach knitting full time. I’d like to think that my standing room only classes grew in popularity because of everything I learned as an educator – simple instructions coupled with patience and enthusiasm.
Building Blocks, a year-long skill building program, and my Mystery Sock classes are continually full. Being only one knitter with hundreds of students, I created video lessons allowing knitters access to my techniques 24/7. The clear videos and rabid needle sales for my classes caught the attention of the Skacel team. I am so excited to bring my video supported patterns to Progressive Needles: Continuing Education for the Knitter beginning in October of 2011. This new knit along is a follow up to the successful Twenty Years of Trekking KAL.
I’m living my dream of knitting, teaching and designing and I wish everyone happy knitting as well!
