Is it always best to stay with the same size needle when switching? If your circular needle is a size 11 should your dbl point be 11 also?

You can absolutely use the magic loop! Just divide the stitches in half and off you go. Happy knitting!
I’m attempting your corkscrew hat and have watched your videos- v helpful but I have what I hope isn’t a stupid question. I assume I can use the magic loop instead of changing to dpns for the crown decrease? if so I take it I just divide the number of stitches in half and work as for your magic loop video?
