Pillows make for perfect summer knitting!  These quick to knit home accessories are just the right size for your travel knitting.  My knitting is the first thing that I pack for any trip and this project will fit easily into any suitcase.

Pillows also provide a wonderful opportunity to explore new techniques and yarns within a small project.

Knitted pillows are all the rage in home decor magazines.  Why buy one when you can knit a lovely one yourself!

  • 2 skeins Simpliworsted, 100g/140 yards each
  • US #8  (5mm) needles or size necessary to achieve gauge
  • 12″ square pillow form
  • 3 buttons, approximately 1″

Gauge:  4.5 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette

They’re Baaack…

skacel collection, inc. and Michelle Hunter of Knit Purl Hunter are joining forces once again for another exciting Knit-Along beginning this Fall!

“Progressive Needles:

Continuing Education for the Knitter”

This upcoming KAL will feature a mystery project each month, for 4 months!  While we can’t give you too many details, we can share the basics:

October:  Create a knitted shawlette with Simplicity by HiKoo – 3 skeins, US #10 32″ circular needle.

November:  Luxury toe up socks knit with Royal, a sumptuous yet durable sock yarn from Austermann – 2 skeins, US #1 (2.5mm) needles.

January:  Mittens worked out of HiKoo’s Simpliworsted – 2 skeins, US #5 and #7.

February:  A sock encore, again making use of Austermann’s Royal – 2 skeins in contrasting colors, US #1 (2.5mm) needles.

Video guidance will be provided on the Knit Purl Hunter website.  Weekly and monthly prizes will be awarded by skacel collection, inc.
