  2. You will work the first 8 row all in garter (knit), slipping the first stitch of every row. Once those 8 rows are complete then you move on to Section #1. In each section, every row begins with Slip 1 wyif, k4, work the Body pattern to the last 5 stitches and then knit 5. Refer back to the Getting Started section and Section #1′ introduction where I explain how this works. I hope this helps!

  3. hi Michelle. I’m loving your new project, Building with Lace. However, i can’t get started with Section # 1. i dont know what it means/how to do the “established garter stitch edge.” I’ve seen a few videos but can’t figure out which one to use. I don’t know why i can’t figure it out because i’ve done the 2 previous “Building with” without problems, but this… first and last 5 stitches in garter stitch edge…”. I can’t figure it out. HELP! HELP please!
