A left leaning decrease worked on the wrong side (purl) of the fabric. When viewed from the right side, it closely resembles an SSK.

If you are knitting a hat in the round then you will never be on the wrong side. Just work it as shown in the demonstration.
I am knitting a hat on circular needles so how would I do an SSP on the wrong side?
