Sometimes a pattern calls for a Make One increase on the purl side of the fabric. Watch this video to learn how to execute a left leaning and right leaning M1P. A third M1P is demonstrated and is used in decorative stitch patterns.
A make one increase (M1) is a nearly invisible increase creating a knit stitch. Many of today’s designers prefer the make one over the popular kfb (knit into front and back of stitch) which creates a knit stitch followed by a purl stitch.
