Expertly seam a bound off vertical edge to the selvedge edge of horizontal stitches. This technique is commonly used to place a sleeve cap in a set-in sleeve sweater.

The set in sleeve is worked with right sides facing you.
So I am finishing up my sweater, sewing in the sleeve. Do I do this stitch on the right side of the fabric or the wrong side? Thanks!
Yes, I would work it that way. Try a few stitches and see if it works out. The nice thing about finishing is that there are no live stitches so you can experiment a bit wit no worries. Happy knitting!
For a sweater in garter stitch would I pick up the smiley edge on the vertical piece and the “V” on the horizontal piece?
Thanks so very much!
Now I know what I did wrong. Thank you!
