SSK
An ssk is a left leaning decrease that most closely mirrors the right leaning decrease, k2tog. The ssk is used in garment shaping, sock gussets and lace knitting. Watch the ssk video to learn this smooth decrease and kick your knitting up a notch!
SSK – Improved
SSP
A left leaning decrease worked on the wrong side (purl) of the fabric. When viewed from the right side, it closely resembles an SSK.
Star Stitch
A delightful two-color stitch pattern that resembles crochet. The pattern is similar to the daisy stitch and makes use of the Make One Purl stitch. With a four row repeat it is easy to memorize and fun to knit!
Stranded Knitting – Catching Long Floats
Demonstrated in two-handed knitting for catching yarn held in right hand (background color) and left hand (main/pattern color).
Stranded Knitting – Positioning the Yarns
The position of the yarns in the hand determines which color is dominant in the design. Positioning options are demonstrated for two-handed, one-handed Continental and one-handed Western-style (throwing). Very important for Fair-Isle knitting.
